To generate knowledge about the practices and impacts of open innovation in Latin America, the 2nd International Congress of Open Innovation Cases will take place on May 14-17, 2024, as part of Open Innovation Week LATAM. The congress will highlight cases of collaboration for innovation involving the business, entrepreneurial and scientific communities, and players from the innovation ecosystem.

1. What is the International Congress of Open Innovation Cases?

The 2nd International Congress of Open Innovation Cases is a technical-scientific event organised by 100 Open Startups. It aims to promote the generation of knowledge about the practices and impact of open innovation in Latin America.
In 2024, the Congress of Cases will be held in conjunction with 13ST - Prodem in São Paulo, Brazil..

2. When and where will the 2nd International Congress of Open Innovation Cases occur?

The 2nd International Congress of Open Innovation Cases will occur on May 14-17, 2024, at Amcham Brasil.

3. What format will the Case Congress occur?

The Cases Congress will take place in person.

5. How do I register for the Case Congress?

Registration can be done in two ways: as an author of approved cases and as a participant. Authors with approved cases have sent their cases via the submission process and have been accepted for presentation at the Case Congress. Participants are those who would like to attend the event. Participants can be those who are interested or those who submitted cases but were not approved.

6. What do I need to do to submit my case?

Follow these steps:
1) Read the Call for Cases for the 2nd International Congress of Open Innovation Cases.
2) download the case template in Portuguese or Spanish.
3) Fill in the fields in the template and save it as a pdf.
4) Access the Even3 system and register (or login).
5) Submit your pdf file by clicking the "submissions" button and following the system's steps.

7. My case has been accepted, what should I do?

If the case has been approved, it is necessary to ensure its registration. To do this, one of the authors must register for the 2nd International Congress of Open Innovation Cases and pay the registration fee. All the authors don't need to be registered, but at least one of them. Once registered, the author can prepare their presentation and wait for the programme to be announced to find out when and where they will present their case.

8. When and where will I present my case? Can I choose the day?

The event's official programme will announce the presentation's day, time and room between March and April 2024. It will not be possible to choose the day and time of the presentation. Please reserve the days of the event in your calendar. If the author has more than one approved case, they can present them under the same registration.

9. Can anyone present my case?

No. Only authors with approved and registered cases will present.

10. I need to make a change to my case, how do I proceed?

Modifications can only be made at the time of submission. There will be no other times to modify them after the submission period has ended.

11. Can my case compete for the best case award?

Yes. All approved and registered cases can compete for the best case award. However, to win, the case must reflect the evaluation criteria described in the notice. Click here to access it.

12. How is the process of nominating and publicizing the best cases?

When the cases are evaluated, the evaluators will nominate the best cases for the award according to pre-established criteria. After the evaluations have been completed, a list will be generated, in descending order, of the best-evaluated cases, and the three best from each area will be selected for consideration by the technical committee. Based on pre-established criteria, the technical committee members will nominate the winning cases. The best case of the event will be chosen among the winning cases.
The nominees will be announced by the date of the event. The winners will be announced at the Case Congress awards session. At least one case author nominated for the award must be present.

13. What are the prizes for the best cases?

The winning cases will receive best-case certificates. The other nominated cases will receive certificates of merit.

14. Will my case be published in the proceedings of the Case Congress?

Yes, but publication is conditional on the case presented at the Case Congress. Registering for the event does not guarantee publication.

15. What are the Proceedings of the Case Congress for?

The Proceedings of the Case Congress is an excellent way to publicise your open innovation practices on the market. It recognises the person who wrote it and the company. It guarantees points in the selection processes in the academic field and public tenders. We therefore recommend that the company and the authors publicise it on their networks.

16. Will I get a certificate of participation in the Case Congress?

Yes, the certificates will be made available after the Case Congress. You can download it from the Even3 system. To obtain it, the author must fill in the event satisfaction evaluation.

17. I will need proof of registration for the Case Congress, how do I get it?

Any proof of enrolment, such as invoices, commitment notes and others, can be requested from the event's finance department. To do this, send an email to edison.oliveira@openstartups.net.

18. Do I have to pay to submit my case?

No. Case submission is free of charge. Payment will only be made at the author registration stage.

19. Can I submit the same case that was presented at the previous Congress?

No. It is forbidden to resubmit a case already presented at the previous Congress. However, the organisation can submit new cases. Cases that failed in previous editions can be resubmitted but with improvements.
